The Liverpool Hung Gar Kung Fu Club has been open for almost 50 years in various locations in Liverpool but we have been in our current home in Bridport street since 2009. The school was founded by Si-gung Jimmy Chan and then after his passing in 1989 Sifu Stephen Ornellas. Our style is a Southern Chinese style and is based on 5 animals and 5 elements alongside other striking aspects and stances. An important part of our club is the Lion Dance, and we perform at Chinese New Year and many other events throughout the year.
Lessons are held every day of the week and concentrate on various aspects of our style. Class fees are only £3.50 per lesson or £10 for 1 week's training. No previous level of fitness is required and we only expect students to do what they can and build up. We do have a grading scheme but it is not compulsory and students can just train and progress in other ways. Kids Classes are also available for ages 7 upwards on a Tuesday and Thursday for £2.50 per class.
